Summary of motions and actions:
Motion - hold an extraordinary Board meeting on Monday 14th at 7 PM at 1310 Manor Road
Motion - pay $25 to Hallmark Society for partial membership
Action – JE get prices for print runs on the new Heritage Walking Tour brochures
Action – CS distribute prepared answers to 6 submitted questions to RNA board members
Action – DC talk to DH to change the current process for posting minutes on the website

3. Councillor’s Report
• Staff prepared answers to 6 submitted questions (3 from Planning, 3 from Parks) –
ACTION – distribute answers to board members
• Councillor has stepped down – there will be a by-election coincident with the Blue Bridge referendum
• Zoning bylaw amendments for discussion. (connected
buildings issue addressed; need definition of `roof`). Tuesday, June
15th open house meeting for discussion and explanation, to be followed
by a formal public hearing (which requires 14 days notice).
• Will meet with Herb Leroy tomorrow to discuss
possibility of proposing that Victoria establish a local office for
Prince Charles` community trust – potential source of funding for
sustainable housing.
4. Business Arising from minutes:
• Craigdarroch Castle – acting executive director and notice of AGM now to be held September 15th
• Mayor would like to talk to the board – now scheduled for the September Board Meeting.
• Propose that we do not post minutes until they are approved
ACTION - DC talk to DH to change the current process
• Police Board Meeting
Fairfield Community Place offers their facility for any midsize meetings that we might hold.
5. Communications received – all directors
• Craigdarroch Castle Society notice of appointment of acting executive director Bruce Davies
• City – Heritage designation for 1745 Rockland Avenue
• City – OCP Bylaw amended to incorporate greenhouse gas emissions reduction target
• City – Posters advertising Mayor`s open door 1st and 3rd Friday of every month – 9 to 11 AM.
• Friends of Government House - Cary Bulletin
• Governor General will be at Government House at 5:45 June 11th.
6. Committee Reports
Land Use
Committee met June 8th. Pam Madoff attended. Reviewed proposed zoning
bylaw amendments. 14 days notice deemed too short for meaningful
response. Committee will prepare a letter for the RNA board`s
consideration to be submitted to the city at the open house on June
15th.
Motion (CS/JW) hold an extraordinary Board meeting on Monday 14th at 7
PM at 1310 Manor Road for the purpose of approving a letter to be
submitted to the City Planning and Development Department open house
the following day. Carried Unanimously
BB attended NOA meeting – Province owns city streets
BB attended OCP meeting – brainstorming between City Staff and
neighbourhood Associations. Boulevard gardens, maintaining tree cover;
uptown - downtown corridor density; light rapid transit.
Walking Tour brochures
Draft of the four revised Walking tours were distributed to board members for comment.
Motion – (JE/DC) pay $25 to Hallmark Society for partial membership in
acknowledgement of their material used in the Walking Tour brochures.
Carried Unanimously.
ACTION – JE get prices for print runs for 1000 or 1500 copies of each brochure.
Also, price of black and white versus colour copies.
Social – July 6th from 6 to 8 PM at Government House.
Draft Invitation distributed for comment. Invitations will be sent out this week.
Graffiti –
News from North Park CA - Paint additive will make cleaning of graffiti easier
Garden – no report
Membership – 2 new members.
Traffic Committee, Emergency Preparedness, Safety, Neighbourhood Watch won’t be chaired until necessary.
