4. Business Arising from minutes:
• Craigdarroch Castle AGM - CS and JE attended
- meeting was “adjourned” until June - conflicting slates of
nominations .
• Mayor would like to talk to the board – scheduled for June 9th RNA Board Meeting.
o ACTION – All directors, prepare your list of issues
and specific questions, and submit to DC for collation by May 25th.
5. Communications received – all directors
• Information relating to the April 28th 6 PM Craigdarroch Castle Society AGM.
• Newsletter – an article relating to the Graffiti committee was misdirected – next time.
• Climate Change Action Plan -= 2020 targets for
Province will have impacts on city business. Most municipalities within
the Province have signed on to the charter, with 2012 and 2020 targets.
• Victoria Police Board – meeting May 20th, 5 PM, to
talk with Community Associations; any director may attend. The Chief
will be there to answer questions. If the Board is supportive, CC
suggests that the Board meet with restorative justice (non-profit
society). E.g., in some jurisdictions, traffic fines move directly to
Police Board to support this initiative. Local resident Katy Hutchison
is a champion – possible keynote speaker for next years’ AGM?
(Bill Brooks arrived)
6. Councillor’s Report
• Copy of report sent out to email list last week, focusing on Emergency Preparedness.
• New items –
o Barbara Patterson sculpting Emily Carr statue – still short on funding.
o Email from JS re: 1238 Richardson (not on agenda
until June) – Items for Planning and Land Use Committee business are
not forwarded to Neighbourhood Associations.
• Answers to last month’s questions, pending responses from city staff.

ACTION: BB will phrase the question in writing to CC.
Question – Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall lot sold for $850,000 –apparently no zoning change.
Comment – Emergency Preparedness Meeting was poorly located and poorly attended, and the topic was not as advertised.
ACTION: CS will submit her concerns in writing to CC.
http://www.shapeyourfuturevictoria.ca/ - shape the OCP that you want to see in the future
